Why should you becoming even more of a leader be any different to you improving how you play a musical instrument or a sport? The fast track in all these instances requires you grasping a few essential ideas, getting some guidance and then committing to lots of practice.
We’re here to support you with your practice on your way to becoming a more confident, effective leader. We know that there’s lots in life that will come along to take your mind off developing yourself. So we’ll give you a nudge, at least weekly, to help you spend some of your week thinking about yourself and the difference you want to make.
And here’s the first nudge. Please read the first two chapters of the book. They offer the simple FED framework as a way of looking at yourself as a leader. Please share your comments below after reading this.
Pause for a second and reflect on which aspects of FED you’re naturally strong at and not so strong at. Remember we rarely come across anyone who’s great at all three, so don’t worry if you’re human like the rest of us!! Identify those aspects of leading you’re going to enjoy using and those you’re going to give some extra practice to. Think of times this week when you can practice and then do it. Go!
PS We’ve also put these chapters in the section, Free FED Resources, over on the right so that you can refer to them at anytime and recommend them to others.

I’ve worked with Steve for over 4 years now and I have to admit to being hooked and completely transformed by his no nonsense, simple, yet brilliant and inspiring approach to this leadership stuff. I would highly highly recommend this website, the books, the email subscriptions – everything really to those who aspire to be tremendous leaders. Looking forward to the weekly nudges.

I first read Future-Engage-Deliver in Jan 09 and have been actively aware of growing my leadership muscles, I would recommend a model like FED because it’s easy to get started and monitor your progress over time…

I have worked with Steve for over 3 years and I have to say FED has changed the way I lead my life and also the way I lead within business. The frameworks are so simple and practical and I use elements everyday. I don’t get it right every time but at least I now can identify where I am getting it wrong and try to do it better next time. The biggest aha’s for me have been the importance of building strong relationships and making big requests (getting good at that one!!).
Thanks Steve for giving us FED.

The volume of material on the subject of leadership is frightening. One of the hallmarks of a powerful idea is that is brings a simplicity and depth to its field and this is precisely what Steve’s Future – Engage – Deliver leadership framework does. He brings a powerful yet penetrating simplicity to a muddied and confused field of thinking and practice, I recommend this approach highly.

I attended an FED workshop in Brighton in September. It was brilliant and I can best describe it in two words: Pure and Simple. Steve has distilled Leadership into something that’s very simple to understand and reading his book and attending his workshops can and will transform people’s lives and the success of teams and organizations.
Pure Genius!

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the free chapters. I’m interested in how to motivate us all as leaders so that more people are “up to something” and willing to be counted. I’ve seen several leadership initiatives that only seemed to increase the accuracy and articulation of people’s criticism of exisiting leaders rather than increasing the number of people actually leading! I really appreciate the future questions for us all to use to clarify why and where we want to lead.

I’m excited that this site is up and running. It is starting to pull together all of the powerful thinking around Future Engage Deliver and will help many of us to continue to make a diiference to individuals and organisations across the world. This is going to be a powerful central hub for leaders and leadership ideas into the future. I would encourage everyone to keep coming back as we’ll be posting all sorts of relevant ideas and perspectives in the coming months. This is only the start.
