It’s a different kind of note this week. I want to bring you up to date with our latest news. But first a ‘thank you’ for your interest and support of FED. The word about FED continues to spread as you’ll read more about below.
The big news is that we are chuffed to tell you about the arrival of the second edition of Leadership Plain and Simple. If I’m honest, I’ve never really liked the look and feel of the first edition. So please step forward the new, smaller second version with a more modern look inside, over a dozen stories of FED in action and a new chapter on how to take FED through an organisation. We’ve also gone for a punchier cover design because at last the book will appear in Smiths shops. You’ll see it promoted in their rail and airport shops this month. So get to the station or airport early and recommend the book to the people standing next to you!
The book is already roaring along. For over 18 months now, it’s been the number one book of the over 90,000 offered in a search for ‘leadership’ on Amazon. Also today, it has over 140 5 Star Reviews, more than for any other business book on Amazon, ever. If you’ve not added a review yet, could you add one to help us get to over 150 reviews? You don’t need to buy a book, just have an Amazon account. Many thanks.
One of the trends for FED is that it’s reaching into more corners of society. The front cover of the book features quotes from business people, the head of the civil service, a senior leader in the medical world and two headteachers. And there is a corker of a quote on the back cover from Dame Fiona Reynolds while she was head of The National Trust. She writes:
“This is an extraordinarily powerful book, full of deep, inspiring ideas that are simple, practical and make a real difference.â€
Thank you, Fiona.
And soon, much to my delight, we may well be taking FED into the world of football. Watch this space for more on that. Oh and there will soon be a Chinese version of the book!
So in short, FED is becoming the most recommended leadership development approach in the UK. A couple of years ago, The Times described FED as ‘the no-nonsense approach shaking up the world of leadership.’ With your help, we are getting there.
Please continue to tell more people about FED. Thanks again for your support and have a week of a leader.
Steve…
